Reliance Industries has announced the commissioning of the first phase of its Paraxylene (PX) plant at Jamnagar, Gujarat.

In a bid to tackle the call drop menace, Government has launched an Integrated Voice Response System (IVRS) system at multiple locations including Delhi and Mumbai to obtain direct feedback from subscribers on call quality. The feedback will be shared with operators so they can take corrective steps in the problem areas and address the issue of call drops. The IVRS system will be extended to the entire country shortly, an official release said.

ED has arrested a manager of a Kotak Bank branch here in connection with its money laundering probe in a criminal case of detection of nine alleged fake accounts with deposits worth Rs 34 crore post demonetization.

Officials said the agency arrested the manager of the bank's branch in the K G Marg area here, late last night after questioning.

State Bank of India (SBI) rejected reports that Rs 1,300 crore cash has been deposited in its various branches in Arunachal Pradesh after demonetization saying no such deposits were found after minutely verifying the relevant records.

SBI Regional Manager Sakya Sinha Bairagi in a statement today said, "We have verified all our relevant records minutely and found that no such deposits were made in any branch of the SBI in the state under Itanagar region." He said, the Itanagar region (SBI) has 43 branches out of which 26 are in Arunachal Pradesh.

Over 50 passengers were on Wednesday injured when 15 coaches of the Ajmer-Sealdah Express derailed near Rura Railway Station in Kanpur Rural district, the second rail accident in the region in two months.

While soon after the mishap that took place at 5:30 am, IG (Kanpur range) Zaki Ahmed said two of the seriously injured passengers had died, General Manager, North Central Railway Arun Saxena said the railway medical team at the spot has no information of any death.
