Budget 2017: Jewellers want PAN card limit raised to Rs 5 lakh, cut import duty

The domestic gems and jewellery industry, which went through a lot of turmoil in 2016, has urged the government to increase the mandatory PAN card limit to Rs 5 lakh and above, and reduce the import duty on gold to atleast 5% in the Union Budget 2017-18.

All India Gems and Jewellery Trade Federation (GJF), the apex body for domestic gems and jewellery industry, has recommended the Finance Minister to increase the mandatory PAN card limit to Rs 5 lakh and above.

Amazon Prime launched in India in July 2016, and launched its Prime Video streaming service in December 2016.

Myleeta Aga, SVP and GM of India, BBC Worldwide, said, “In the last year or so, we have seen digital consumption in India increase exponentially. We are very excited to be partnering with Amazon Prime Video India to satisfy viewers’ demands for quality, premium programmes from the BBC.”
