The Competition Commission of India has approved the proposed sale of the tower division of Reliance Communications’ subsidiary, Reliance Infratel, to Canada-based Brookfield Infrastructure Group. “The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has approved the proposed transaction involving the sale of the tower division of Reliance Infratel Limited, a subsidiary of Reliance Communications Ltd., which is to be carried out pursuant to a demerger of the tower division to Towercom Infrastructure Private Limited (Towerco),” Reliance Communications said in a statement.

NEW DELHI: State-run power producer NTPC today said it has commissioned 20 mega watt (MW) of Bhadla Solar Power Project in Rajasthan.

"We wish to inform that 20 MW of Bhadla Solar Power Project has been commissioned. With this, the commissioned capacity of Bhadla Solar Power Project, NTPC and NTPC group, has become 205 MW, 41,927 MW and 48,893 MW respectively," NTPC said in a BSE filing.

On the occasion of Pakistan Day, President Mamnoon Hussain said in his address that Islamabad is ready for dialogue with India over the Kashmir issue.

"We are ready for dialogue with India and want to resolve the issue of incomplete agenda of the division of the subcontinent, in accordance with the UN resolutions on Kashmir," the Dawn quoted the President as saying at the celebration ceremony marked by military parade in the capital.

A day after issuing an interim order freezing the 'two leaves' election symbol of Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), the Election Commission of India on Thursday allotted 'Auto' symbol to Sasikala's faction and 'Electricity pole' to the O Panneerselvam (OPS) camp for the prestigious RK Nagar assembly bypoll.

OPS camp has been named AIADMK Puratchi Thalaivi Amma, while Sasikala camp has been named AIADMK Amma.

Public sector BSNL today said that it would invest around Rs 100 crore to upgrade the existing 2G/3G mobile network in the Calcutta circle. CGM of BSNL (Calcutta Telephones) S P Tripathi said that the network upgradation would be mainly to increase data speed and adding that the existing technology was having limited data capacity.

Tripathi said that another 1,000 base transmitting stations (BTS) would be set up to improve signal availability across the Calcutta circle.

New Delhi: The government on Tuesday proposed making Aadhaar, the unique number issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India, mandatory for filing of income-tax returns as well as for obtaining and retaining the permanent account number (PAN). It also proposed making cash transactions above Rs2 lakh illegal, reducing the limit from the earlier proposed one of Rs3 lakh, as per the official amendments to the finance bill 2017 moved by the government.
