Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Saturday condemned the attack in the Imphal East district of state which left civilians and security personnel injured.

In a fresh violence, few civilians and security personnel were injured in a gunfight with armed men in Sanasabi and Thamnapokpi villages of Imphal East district.

Police rescued around 5,000 tourists stranded at Solang Nala, a ski resort in Himachal Pradesh's Kullu on Friday, amid heavy snowfall in the state.

Kullu police said that a rescue operation was launched on December 27 after about 1,000 vehicles got stranded in Solang Nala.

Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh passed away on December 26 at the age of 92, following prolonged health issues. They said the Cabinet will meet at 11 am on Friday to pay tributes to him. Singh's last rites will be conducted with full state honours, the officials added. Manmohan Singh, the architect of India's economic reforms, died in Delhi on Thursday night at the age of 92. He was the prime minister during 2004-14.

The Delhi High Court has sought Patanjali Ayurved's stand on a lawsuit by Dabur over advertisements allegedly disparaging its product Chyawanprash.

On December 24, Justice Mini Pushkarna issued summons on the lawsuit to the defendants -- Patanjali Ayurved and Patanjali Foods Ltd -- for a reply in the matter.
