A fortnight after the Punjab government amended the law to allow restaurants situated within 500 metres of National Highways to serve liquor within their premises, the Supreme Court on Tuesday said that there was nothing wrong with denotifying highways if such roads are within a city.

The court made the observation while hearing a petition filed by NGO Arrive Safe Society through its president Harman Singh Sidhu.
