According to a report by the Times of India, the spouses of certain H1-B visa holders can heave a sigh of relief as the DHS has decided to defer the rollout of the proposal that could bar them from seeking employment in the states.

The country’s largest power producer, NTPC Ltd, plans to commission the 250 Mw Bongaigaon thermal power project (TPP) in Kokrajhar in Assam in the first quarter of the ensuing financial year.

Bongaigaon is the first NTPC project in the north-eastern region of 750 Mw capacity (3x250 Mw). Of the total capacity, 500 MW (2x250 Mw) is already generating power.

But these gift vouchers won’t let you send money to others or send it back to your bank accounts.

India’s second mission to the moon, Chandrayaan-2, is likely to be launched only in October. Further delays cannot be ruled out if systems are not yet in place by then. An Isro official told TOI several tests have to be done and arrangements need to be made. “We do not want to be in a hurry,” he said.

Chandrayaan-2 consists of an orbiter with one-year mission span, a lander and a rover that can operate for 14 to 15 days on the lunar surface. The rocket will be GSLV Mark 2.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has turned down a request from mobile wallet entities for less stringent Know Your Customer (KYC) rules.

A few weeks earlier, major companies in this segment and in financial technology, along with senior members of the sectoral body, Payments Council of India (PCI), met RBI officials. They requested that if a general relaxation was not possible, it could be considered for at least transactions less than Rs 10,000 a month. Source say RBI would have none of it.

Digital payment major Paytm announced that it has registered 68 million Unified Payments Interface (UPI) transactions in February, 2018, thus emerging as the largest contributor to the overall volume of UPI transactions.

In December last year Paytm had contributed 33 million to the overall transaction volume for UPI, which rose to 51 million in January 2018 and 68 million in February.

New Delhi: The National Stock Exchange (NSE) plans to ease listing norms for so-called new-age companies, in an effort to revive its dedicated start-up listing platform, which has struggled to generate interest.

NSE is in discussions with markets regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) to tweak some of the conditions for listing through the platform to make it more attractive to start-ups and investors, Vikram Limaye, NSE managing director and chief executive, said in an interview.
