AstraZeneca to establish $1.5 billion cancer drug plant in Singapore

AstraZeneca plans to build a $1.5 billion manufacturing facility in Singapore to produce a promising category of cancer-killing drugs called antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), the Anglo-Swedish drugmaker said on Monday.

The facility, which will be the drugmaker's first end-to-end ADC production site, will be supported by the Singapore Economic Development Board. The company did not provide details on the possible financial incentives from the Singapore government.

Iran President Ebrahim Raisi on Monday was found dead after a chopper carrying him crashed on Sunday as it was crossing mountains terrain in heavy fog on the way back, according to Iranian state media. The Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and other officials were also reportedly present in the chopper along with Raisi.

Earlier, the Iranian authorities intensified their search operation for the crashed helicopter carrying President Ebrahim Raisi.

The motion called for the royalty paid to its parent to climb to 5.25 per cent of net sales, net of taxes, compared to the current level of 4.5 per cent. The increase was proposed at a rate of 0.15 per cent per annum.
