In his address at the inaugural session of RAISE 2020, a virtual summit on AI, Modi said that using AI properly remains a collective responsibility.

The Supreme Court on Tuesday will hear a PIL seeking a CBI probe or an SIT investigation under a sitting or former Supreme Court or a High Court judge in the gruesome gang-rape and murder of a 19-year-old Dalit woman in Uttar Pradesh's Hathras district.

A bench, headed by Chief Justice SA Bobde and comprising Justices AS Bopanna and V Ramasubramanian will take up the PIL filed by social activist Satyama Dubey and advocates Vishal Thakre and Rudra Pratap Yadav.

The crucial meeting of the Goods and Services Tax Council (GST Council) was held today under the chairmanship of Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. The meeting was organised through video conferencing where the Centre and the state governments brainstormed on the issue of GST compensation.

However, there was no consensus among the states on several issues in the meeting. The council's next meeting will be held on October 12 for further discussion on the reduction in collections and compensation to states.
