The US Embassy in India has issued a warning to visa holders, stating that committing crimes like assault, theft, or burglary in the United States can lead to the cancellation of their visa and may also block future entry into the country.
In a post on X, the Embassy said: “Committing assault, theft, or burglary in the United States won’t just cause you legal issues — it could lead to your visa being revoked and make you ineligible for future US visas. The United States values law and order and expects foreign visitors to follow all US laws.”

The Nascent Information Technology Employees Senate (NITES) has sent a letter to the labour and employment ministry highlighting the alleged distressing and exploitative practices being carried out by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) under its recently enforced bench policy.

Markets regulator Sebi has renewed the recognition of Multi Commodity Exchange Clearing Corporation Ltd (MCXCCL) to act as a clearing corporation for three years beginning July 31.
The three-year term would conclude on July 30, 2028, according to a notification issued by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) on Monday.

The Karnataka government’s move to cap movie ticket prices at ₹200 across all theatres and multiplexes in the state could weigh on the revenue and profitability of India’s largest multiplex chain, PVR Inox Ltd.
According to a draft notification issued on Tuesday, the government has proposed amendments to the Karnataka Cinemas (Regulation) Rules, 2014, setting ₹200 as the maximum ticket price per show, inclusive of entertainment tax, for all films, regardless of language or format.

US President Donald Trump on Wednesday (IST) said he is likely to announce tariffs on pharmaceuticals by the end of this month, which could go as high as 200 per cent. The new tariffs would be part of a broader “reciprocal” trade framework scheduled for implementation on August 1, Bloomberg reported.
Speaking to reporters after returning from Pittsburgh, Trump said, “Probably at the end of the month, and we’re going to start off with a low tariff and give the pharmaceutical companies a year or so to build, and then we’re going to make it a very high tariff.”

Nearly two months after acquiring a significant stake in private lender YES Bank, Japanese financial major Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group (SMFG) is considering an additional investment of around $1.1 billion, Bloomberg reported on Tuesday.
According to the report, the deal would involve SMFG acquiring 5 per cent stake from the United States (US)-based investment fund Carlyle Group and other minority shareholders. Additionally, the Japanese major may also buy about $680 million in convertible bonds issued by YES Bank to help boost growth, the report added.
