Drug firm Strides Pharma Science on Tuesday said its step down subsidiary has received approval from the US health regulator for Ethacrynic Acid tablets, used to treat fluid retention (edema).

The approved product is a generic version of Edecrin tablets, 25 mg, of Bausch Health Americas.

The CBI has booked retired deputy manager Gokulnath Shetty, the main accused in the Rs 13,000-crore Punjab National Bank fraud allegedly perpetrated by Mehul Choksi and Nirav Modi, in a fresh case of receiving a bribe of Rs 1.08 crore from Rishika Financials that arranged bank guarantees for Gitanjali Gems, officials said.

Drug firm Zydus Cadila on Tuesday said it has received final approval from the US health regulator to market Solifenacin Succinate tablets, used for treatment of overactive bladder.

The company has received final approval from the United States Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) to market Solifenacin Succinate tablets, in the strengths of 5 mg and 10 mg, Zydus Cadila, part of the Cadila Healthcare group, said in a regulatory filing.
