The entire Cabinet of former Japanese PM Shinzo Abe submitted their resignations as Yoshihide Suga is set to assume office as Japan's new Prime Minister today, i.e. September 16.

According to a report by Kyodo News, Yoshihide Suga, the new leader of the Liberal Democratic Party, is set to take office as Japan`s Prime Minister on Wednesday, with the immediate focus on reviving a battered economy while keeping the coronavirus under control.

India on Monday recorded the highest COVID-19 recoveries in the world, even beating Brazil which is the third-worst affected by the coronavirus pandemic. According to Johns Hopkins University data, on Monday India recorded a total of 37,80,107 COVID-19 recoveries, while Brazil recorded 37,23,206. The United States of America reported 24,51,406 recovered cases.

Even though a high number of coronavirus cases are being reported daily in India, the recovery rate has remained high.

The Indian government on Monday banned the export of all onion varieties, a move which is aimed to curb prices of the commodity in the domestic market and increase its availability.

The export of all varieties of onions is prohibited with immediate effect, the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) said in a notification.

Shares of JB Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals rallied 16 per cent to hit an all-time high of Rs 965 apiece on the BSE on Tuesday, a day after the company reported a 92.6 per cent year-on-year (YoY) jump in its consolidated net profit at Rs 119.42 crore for the quarter ended June 2020 against Rs 62 crore profit in the year-ago period.

The company's revenue came in at Rs 522.28 crore, up 17 per cent against Rs 446.11 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal while total income rose 18.7 per cent YoY at Rs 544.97 crore.
