The company's construction arm has secured these contracts in different businesses including water and effluent treatment projects, Larsen & Toubro said in a BSE filing.

Tata group is banking on winning the Rs 60,000-crore project to design and build a Fighting Infantry Combat Vehicle (FICV) under Make in India in Defence to bring more than a dozen group companies together. Tata Motors is one of the ten contenders — L&T, Tata Power (SED), Tata Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra, Bharat Forge, Pipavav Defence, Rolta India, Punj Lloyd, Titagarh Wagons, and the Ordnance Factory Board (OFB) — for the FICV programme, who have been issued an expression of interest (EOI) by the defence ministry.

These firms have been asked to submit proposals by January 15, 2016 to build the FICV, a tracked, armoured battle-taxi, which will be operated by three crewmembers and carry eight combat soldiers into battle. As per the EoI, the FICV must be air-portable by IL-76 and C-17 aircraft, and fire anti-tank guided missiles up to 4,000 metres.

Larsen & Toubro Saudi Arabia LLC, a fully owned subsidiary of L&T, has bagged an order valued at $ 108.2 million for the construction of five 132 kV substations at Hail area from the National Grid, Saudi Arabia, a subsidiary of Saudi Electricity Company.

"The power transmission and distribution business of L&T Construction won orders worth Rs 1,038 crore in international and domestic markets in November 2015," the company said in a BSE filing.

Mumbai: L&T Technology Services Ltd, a unit of India’s largest engineering and construction company Larsen and Toubro Ltd (L&T), is looking at buying start-ups valued $50 million or less, chief executive officer Keshub Panda said, as the company prepares for an initial share sale.

L&T Technology is also focusing on the Internet of Things (IoT), and cloud and automation technologies, Panda said in an interview.

Ahmedabad: Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ), India’s largest port developer and operator, on Monday said it will acquire the Kattupalli Port in Tamil Nadu from L&T Shipbuilding Ltd (LTSB) a subsidiary of Larsen and Toubro Ltd. The company did not disclose the financial details of the transaction.

Adani Ports said in a stock exchange filing that its subsidiary Adani Kattupalli Port Pvt. Ltd has entered into an in-principle agreement for the strategic acquisition. The transaction is subject to necessary approvals from the government of Tamil Nadu and the central government, and the port being demerged from LTSB, it said.
