Auto major Tata Motors today rolled out the country's first bio-CNG (bio-methane) bus.

The company said the bio-methane engines (5.7 SGI & 3.8 SGI) will be available on light and medium buses.

The company displayed three models, including the lead model Tata LPO 1613 with 5.7 SGI NA BS-IV IOBD-II compliant bus.

Tata Motors rallied 5% to Rs 458 on BSE in intra-day trade after its British luxury unit Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) reported 11% rise in sales at 51,591 units in June 2017 over June 2016.

“Retail sales for June were up year-on-year in China (65.3%), the UK (3.8%), Europe (3.7%) and North America (3.2%) whilst sales in overseas markets were down 8.5%,” JLR said in a press release.

New Delhi: Tata Motors may soon phase out small car Nano. A report in Business Line says that Tata Motors may soon stop investing in Nano, which had made it presence in India’s domestic market as ‘people’s car’.

The report further added that the decision to phase out ‘world’s cheapest car’ has been taken by the management, as it has not been able to grow on its own. Of all the automobiles produced by the Tata group, Nano continues to be the worst performer in the segment, the report added.

Tata Motors on Wednesday announced that it has slashed the prices of its passenger vehicles by up to 12 per cent, following the roll-out of the Goods and Services Tax (GST).

"We are offering a price reduction of up to 12 per cent ranging between Rs 3,300 and Rs 2,17,000 depending on the model and variant," the car maker's President (Passenger Vehicles Business Unit) Mayank Pareek said.

NEW DELHI: Tata Motors on Monday announced that its small hatchback car - Tiago - has crossed 1 lakh bookings since its launch in April of 2016.

Made in the company's Sanand facility, the Tiago pointed towards a shift in Tata's styling philosophy. Inputs from design studios in Pune and European centres went into the making of the car which is offered in petrol and diesel variants with two new engines - Revotron 1.2L (petrol engine) and Revotorq 1.05L (diesel engine).

Tata Motors-owned Jaguar Land Rover today reduced prices of its entire vehicle range in India on an average by 7 per cent to pass on benefit of reduced tax incidence under GST.

The company said it is fully geared up for the new tax regime and its vehicles will be available under the new prices with immediate effect from any of its 25 retail outlets across India.

Tata Motors and the Volkswagen (VW) Group, along with its Czech brand Skoda, signed a Memorandum of Understanding at the Geneva motor show in March 2017 to explore a long-term cooperation for joint product development. The alliance was to be centred on the development of a common platform that would spawn bespoke products for the individual brands.

Tata Motors today said it has delivered 30 new buses to the Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC). The new delivery is a part of a larger order of 1385 buses bagged by Tata Motors comprising the Ultra 6/9 BS IV Midi and LPO 1512/55 BS IV buses, the company said. “This next generation fleet of connected Tata Motors buses introduced today, reiterates our commitment towards the use of innovative technologies and concepts in Mass Public Transportation, to meet the current and future needs of Smart Cities like Bangalore,” Tata Motors Vice President, Sales & Marketing R T Wasan said.

Mumbai: Tata Steel Ltd and Tata Motors Ltd are planning to raise a total of Rs1,500 crore by selling bonds in the local market to refinance bank loans, at least three people aware of the development said.

While Tata Steel is looking to raise at least Rs1,000 crore through 10-year bonds, Tata Motors is planning to raise around Rs500 crore through five-year bonds.
