The benchmark BSE Sensex rose by about 131 points in early trade today, extending gains for the third session on continued foreign fund inflows amid encouraging quarterly results.

Besides, a firm trend at other Asian bourses influenced the sentiments here.

The BSE Sensex continued its record-setting spree for a second day, scaling a new high of 35,476.70 in opening trade today as banking stocks led rally on sustained foreign fund inflows. Also, the broader NSE Nifty zoomed to a new high of 10,887.10. The 30-share index rallied by 394.88 points, or 1.12 per cent, to hit the peak of 35,476.70, breaching its previous intra-day high of 35,118.61 hit yesterday.

The benchmark BSE Sensex recovered 70 points in opening trade on gains in IT, banking and auto stocks despite weak Asian cues.

The 30-share index, which had lost 72.46 points in the previous session, recovered by 70.65 points or 0.20 per cent to 34,841.70 in a volatile trade.

The benchmark BSE Sensex rose by 92 points to 34,936.03 in early tradeon continued buying by investors driven by encouraging quarterly earnings amid a firm trend in other Asian bourses.

The 30-share index, which gained 410.44 points in the previous three sessions, rose further by 92.52 points, or 0.26 %, at 34,936.03.

Despite a drop of as much as 0.8% from the day’s high following news of a controversial press meet held by four senior judges of the Supreme Court to highlight their discomfort with the internal functioning of the apex body, the benchmark indices recovered and ended the session at a fresh record high. The Sensex ended the session up 88.90 points at 34,592.39, a rise of 0.26%, while Nifty rose by 30.05 points or 0.28% to end the session at 10,681.25.

Markets continued their record- setting trend for the second straight session with the BSE Sensex soaring around 135 points to all-time high of 34,638.42 even as TCS posted disappointing December quarter earnings.

Also, the broader NSE Nifty traded at an all-time high of 10,690.25.

The benchmark Sensex rebounded by 51 points in opening trade after IT, realty and teck stocks rose on optimistic buying by investors ahead of announcement of quarterly results.

The 30-share index rose by 51.78 points, or 0.15 %, at 34,484.85, in opening trade with IT, realty, teck, power and auto leading the recovery by rising up to 0.80 %.

The BSE Sensex hit new life-time intra day high of 34,565.63 in opening sessionon Wednesday extending its record-setting spree for a fourth session on buying by domestic investors ahead of quarterly results by bluechips.

The 30-share index rose by 122.44 points, or 0.35 %, to hit a new peak of 34,565.63, surpassing its previous record (intra-session) of 34,488.03 points hit on Tuesday.

Stocks rose to fresh life-time closing high levels, riding on optimism over earnings, growth and upcoming Budget, with the benchmark BSE Sensex jumping 199 points to end at record 34,352.79 and the Nifty scaling the 10,600-mark for the first time.

Gains in key IT, capital goods, healthcare and metal stocks after consistent buying by domestic and foreign investors helped both the key indices scale new peaks.

Key indices on Monday touched lifetime high in opening trade on huge profits in IT and banking shares. The gains come ahead of the optimistic wave over quarterly earnings by profits.

The 30-share Sensex soared by 178 points, or 0.52 per cent, to 34,331.85 points, breaching its previous record high (intra-day) of 34,188.85 hit on January 5.
