BSE Sensex up over 50 points in morning trade

The benchmark BSE Sensex opened on a positive note on Tuesday and rose 109.61 points or 0.39 per cent to 27,839.82, taking cue from the global market trend which has shown a steep rise bolstered by hopes that Greece’s latest budget proposals would stave off a debt default and lead to a deal with lenders later this week.

It slipped into red for a bried period in monring trade. At 9.27 am, BSE Sensex was down 4.61 points at 27,725.60. Similarly, Nifty was down 2.25 points at 8350.85 during the same time.

Rising for the seventh straight day, the benchmark BSE Sensex rose 168 points in early trade on Monday as participants engaged in enlarging positions tracking a firm global cues amid steady progress in monsoon.

At 9.26 am, Sensex was up 162.67 points at 27,478.84. Similarly, Nifty was up 49.75 points at 8,274.70 during the same time.

At 9.28 am, Sensex was up 170.56 points at 27,286.39. Similarly, Nifty was up 40.35 points at 8,214.95 during the same time.

At 11:10 am BSE Sensex traded 122.16 points up to 26808.67. NSE Nifty gained 25.90 to 8073.20.

The benchmark BSE Sensex slipped over 80 points in late morning trade today as participants booked profits after two sessions of gains amid sustained capital outflows and a weak trend at other Asian markets.

At 11:30 am, BSE Sensex traded 81.62 points low to 26504.93. NSE Nifty lost 28.95 points to 7984.95.

Erasing its initial losses, the benchmark BSE Sensex rose over 50 points in morning trade in Monday. At 10.30 am, Sensex was up 66.12 points at 26,491.42. Nifty was up marginally up 2.55 points at 7,985.45 during the same time.

Earlier, the Sensex fell over 117 points in early trade on continued capital outflows by foreign funds and selling by investors despite improved IIP numbers and steady inflation data. The NSE Nifty shed 38.05 points, or 0.47 per cent, at 7,944.85.

Recovering from nearly 8-month lows, the benchmark BSE Sensex gained over 250 points in late morning trade today, snapping its 6-session losing streak, on the back of a rebound in blue-chip stocks following value buying and positive cues from other Asian markets.

At 11:40 am, BSE Sensex rose 257.79 points or 0.97 per cent to 26739.04. NSE Nifty rose 72.10 points or 0.90 per cent to 8094.50.

By 10:25, the Sensex was lower by 144 points at 26,624 and the Nifty dipped 50 points at 8,065. Among broader markets, BSE Midcap and Small indices are down between 0.4-0.6%.
