In addition, this segment supplies ingredients used in prescription pharmaceuticals, nutritional supplements, veterinary health products, and food additive applications; and provides electronic chemicals, including ultrahigh purity acids, caustics, solvents, etchants, and formulated photo ancillaries for use in the manufacture of semiconductor processing chips and computer disk drives. The company was founded in 1999 and is headquartered in Parsippany, New Jersey. As of October 27, 2009, GenTek Inc. was taken private.
