Tadepalligudem: An Introduction |
Tadepalligudem is a town and a municipality in Andhra Pradesh, India. It is situated in the middle of West Godavari District, nearly 50km from the district headquarters, Eluru.It is the hub of West Godavari district which is reknowned as the 'Annapurna of Andhra Pradesh'. West Godavari is the second thickly populated region after Hyderabad with around,The excellent warehouses distinguish Tadepalligudem. Jagannathapuram is the largest village in Tadepalligudem and is replete with numerous Engineering Colleges. Buddha Caves :Jeelakarragudem, village belonging to Guntupalle is located at the distance of 6.4 kms from Kamarvarapukota. You can see the immense picturesque hills surrounding the place. This place has been in existence since earlier 200 BC, when this place was occupied by the Buddhist aromas. After the Jains, this place was known as Jainuvarigudem.In the earlier times, some Buddhist Stupas were excavated by the Department of State Archeology; this Stupa was 30 inches in circumference and 10 inches in height situated on the hills nearby. |
